Written by literature professor and science fiction author Adam Roberts under the pen name of Don Brine, this is a gloriously savage and wacky send-up of the repetitious, digressive prose style; ridiculous plot convolutions; and continuity errors representative of Dan Brown`s blockbuster bestseller THE DA VINCI CODE and other academic/historical thrillers of that ilk. Curator Jacques Sauna-Lurker of London`s National Gallery is discovered dead, a cod stuffed down his throat. Fingerprints on the fish scales pin the murder on Anagrammatology Professor Robert Donglan, who has a reputation as one of the world`s greatest codebreakers but is in fact a dimwitted slacker. Donglan, the lovely Sophie Nudivue, and the bizarrely behaving Sir Herbert Teabag attempt to find the true murderer of Sauna-Lurker, who had apparently located an elusive work of art painted by Leonardo`s forgotten (and considerably more brilliant) twin sister, Eda da Vinci, which contains clues to an ancient, powerful, and incredibly fishy conspiracy.
